Strategic Advisory Council
The Strategic Advisory Council (The Council) provides the Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health (The Centre) with advice, direction and input on strategic plans partnership initiatives and high-level operations that advance the Centre’s work towards achieving its vision mission and strategic goals.
This Council is comprised of 12 members, including:
- Youth with lived experience with mental health challenges/mental illness
- Parent/family member of a child or youth with lived experience of mental health challenges/mental illness
- Organizational leaders representing lead and core service Ontario child and youth mental health agencies
Member responsibilities
The Council meets four times a year, often in person. Members are committed for a two-year term. Council duties include:
- Working with the Centre’s leadership team to set strategic priorities and directions
- Contributing to generative discussions to advance the relevance and impact of the Centre’s work
- Reviewing and advising on the Centre’s annual operating plans and budgets
- Reviewing and approving quarterly performance reports
- Providing input into the performance appraisals of the Centre’s executive director
