Family engagement training
Meaningful family engagement can improve child and youth mental health outcomes, but sometimes it’s hard to do it well. Community mental health organizations vary in how they involve families at all levels of their work – agency, program and service provider.
The Centre recognizes that effective family engagement can be a challenge, but we believe the tremendous opportunities for stronger care are worth the effort. That’s why we are working with parents and service providers to develop a family engagement training program that is collaborative, practical and responsive to the unique needs of both child and youth mental health agencies and the people they serve.
To ensure that our family engagement training strategy is grounded in the best available evidence, the Centre teamed up with service providers and parents across the province to review the literature, scan the practice landscape and consult with families. Check out the Phase 1 report here.
